~New Energy

Today, my day was filled with ~new energy.
I’m building a new & solid foundation, therefore, all my actions feel new & right.
I have been on this journey… or this path for about the past year… to really zero in on what I love & what’s important to me, but I feel that I have reached another -new- level in my stratosphere.
…this was evidenced by the events of the day as I welcomed ~newness & freshness.
I always want to be exactly where I want to be because I find if I’m not then I’m not fully present and my mind is elsewhere so I made conscious decisions to choose where I wanted to be today… (because today is all that really matters) - not where other people thought I should be, but where I felt my soul was leading me…
It was fun.
After choosing to stay in last night to get a good night’s rest, I awoke to have a pleasant conversation over tea with my Australian roommate - we hadn’t had the chance before this morning to do this since I moved in a couple months ago… As we sipped Orange Pekoe, we chatted about the interesting and comical differences between Australian and Canadian slang…my favorite is “I’m under the pump!” - Australian slang for “I’m super busy” or Canadian slang, “I’m under the gun!” And, I learned that they swallow the end of their phrases so instead of saying “what are you doing this afternoon?” it would sound like “what are you doing this ah-veh?” Funny.
Then, as testament to getting organized in my communication channels, I see a message from my cousin pop up… he’s in town from Calgary and happened to be sitting just around the corner on a sunny patio - I went to meet him and his wife, and had a delicious Green Tea. I was so bombarded with emails this past while that I may have missed his message if I wasn’t on track this last week to stay totally up to date…glad I am. Communication is flowing.
Then, with briefcase and laptop on my shoulder, I bid them farewell, and was on a mission to find a cafe to chill out at. On my way, I see a sign “Peaceful Restaurant” and “Grand Opening” - I thought ‘hey, I’ll support a local start up” and get a bite. This is when I thought about how I’m breathing ‘newness’ into my day. The staff were new, friendly, and I could really feel the whole place saying, “we just opened!” Exciting for them.
Then, I continued on my mission to find a cafe to sit down at in order to do a bit of work (don’t worry - it is what I call “Saturday fun work”;) ). Wasn’t sure where I would end up, but happened to walk by Java Express…another local company; perfect. And it was right across the street from (duh, duh, duh) … Starbucks. The place was empty, super comfy, and a friendly Chilean made an Americano for me. (HHmm…that’s quite a bit of caffeine already today!) … And I actually noticed that it was super clean…again, newness & freshness.
The place was empty, until a friendly lad from Mexico came in who’s in town for the marathon tomorrow. I chatted with him about Canadian politics and the election. I educated him on Canada a bit… he now knows that Canada has a Prime Minister and not a President, that our “states” are called provinces, and that there’s 13 of them (oops, I forgot about the territories part!)
Then I went straight from the Java Express to a yoga, pilates, dance studio called Exhale. It felt like a bit of a journey to get there as it’s tucked away in an alley. Had a completely new experience here. New environment, first time DanceHall class (amazingly fun and a super great workout!), new people…awesome. I plan to go to a yoga class there tomorrow…
A quick recap. Wanted to share the theme of my day with you.
